2nd Annual Student Art Competition!

11/22/22 UPDATE:  We're so sorry, but our local teachers have way too much on their plates right now and we thought it best to reschedule to next year. We'll leave the details up on our website though so you can still work on your submission!
The Little Art Shop loves to support up and coming talent and what better way than to reach out to our next generation of creative artists!  We are asking for your help in letting your students know about the contest and encourage them to enter.  Our flyer (above) has the basic details. See below for more details!
  • Eligibility: Any city of Benicia high school aged student, grades 9-12, is invited to participate
  • Theme: Students must incorporate the theme, "Protect Our Planet" into their original artwork, and include a one-sentence explanation of the work.
    • Artists are invited to illustrate how they would impact our community or provide solutions that will protect our planet.  We encourage artists to use visual elements to express their views on: biodiversity, ocean health, pollution, climate change, waste disposal, conservation, wildlife habitat security or green innovation, just to name a few.  Embrace your creativity and vision....there is unlimited potential for actions we can take to protect our planet and we would love to see your suggested solutions!

    • A silent auction will be held on 11/19/22 from 1pm - 3pm with each artist receiving the proceeds of their artwork's sale.
Our terrific steampunk and mixed media artist, Bobbie Jo Richardson, is coordinating our competition and will be your main contact.  You can reach Bobbie Jo at atouchofglassbenicia@gmail.com..  We're excited to see what our next generation of Benicia Artists creates and help them learn just how powerful their artistic message is to others!

With lots of love to inspire their creativity!
