Sondra Perry

As a child, I was always interested in art, but it was not until I retired from Mare Island Naval Shipyard in 1994, where I worked as a Machined Parts Inspector, that I really embraced my art.

As a student at Solano Community College, I enrolled in numerous art classes.  Then in 1996, I discovered clay.  I remember walking by the clay studio where the instructor was working on a clay sculpture, and I knew immediately that was what I wanted to do. This was the beginning of my love affair with clay.

I enrolled in almost all the clay classes which included pottery wheel classes.  Although my favorite were the sculpture classes.

In recent years, I’ve become interested in jewelry design, which I truly love.  I love working with natural stones.

My work has been exhibited in the Fairfield Visual Arts Association Juried Art Show and the Solano Community College Gallery in Davis,
