I started taking night art classes at City College of San Francisco. I enjoyed drawing and painting and then I finally discovered clay. After a few years, I decided to get serious about my hobby and applied to California College of the Arts in Oakland. I received my BFA in Ceramics and graduated with High Distinction.

Okay, so most of the students were half my age, still, this time I took my education very seriously. I have a BA I received in my early twenty’s from SFSU, needless to say, I was mediocre at best.

My ceramic work is influenced by the early California Arts and Crafts movement, especially from the Arequipa Pottery in Fairfax, Ca. where Frederick Hurten Rhead was employed. He’s responsible for designing Fiesta ware. His earlier work of California landscapes and the
textures they create are what I try to replicate in my work.
